Posthuman refers to when an organism no longer belongs to the genus Homo. The word was coined in 1980 by Donna Haraway in her book, “Simians, Cyborgs, and Women: The Reinvention of Nature.” She used it to refer to a new kind of cyborg, someone who can think about their identity as a human being who has the ability to change themselves into something else.
